Behind The LensFrom West Texas to The Colorado Wild
Welcome to my “for fun” blog. If you love the mountains, valleys, raw and real moments, and a good outdoor adventure, you are in the right place!
I’m Taylor, and my journey with photography started about ten years ago when I picked up my very first camera at fourteen years old in my hometown of Abilene, Texas. For a decade, I’ve been documenting life’s most beautiful chapters—from the high-energy adrenaline of sports (my brothers travel teams) to families, couples, seniors, and portraits.
While I spent two years studying Business Management at Texas Tech, my heart was constantly pulling me toward the mountains. I have always had a deep love for traveling to the high country and chasing outdoor adventures—whether that meant hiking a new trail, skiing down a peak, or rafting a river. I packed my bags and moved to Colorado for a rafting photography job, trading the flat West Texas dirt for rapids and peaks.
Recently, my world changed in the absolute best way possible when I welcomed my new baby boy into the world. Becoming a mom made me look at time, memories, and my own goals through a completely new lens. It inspired me to step back into my creative passion full-time and channel all ten years of my technical experience into a massive new direction: mountain wedding and elopement photography.
If you would have told me back in Texas that I’d jump headfirst into shooting weddings by taking on backyard celebrations in Denver and Fort Collins with zero traditional wedding experience, I might have called you crazy. But those days went incredibly well, and they completely lit a fire under me. I realized that tracking high-speed rafters crashing through Colorado rapids isn't all that different from capturing a bride and groom walking down the aisle in a blur of excitement—it takes quick reflexes, anticipating the split-second moments, and knowing your gear inside and out.
But beyond the camera, I realized how much I absolutely love the backend logistics of a wedding day. I thrive on being organized and working behind the scenes. I genuinely love helping brides and grooms plan ahead, structure a stress-free timeline, and map out the perfect path for their specific day. Whether you are planning an intimate micro backyard wedding, a rugged mountain elopement, or a giant, classic Texas wedding, I am here to ensure you feel supported every single step of the way.
This blog is going to be a mix of everything that makes my creative heart beat. You can expect to find:
Real Stories: Honest, behind-the-scenes breakdowns of the weddings, elopements, and sessions I capture (including exactly how those first backyard weddings went down!).
Colorado Travel Guides: Logistics, location scouting, and hidden gems I’ve found while exploring my new home state—perfect for couples planning an alpine adventure.
Planning & Timeline Tips: Practical advice on how to organize your day, manage your timeline, and choose the right package inclusions so you can actually enjoy your wedding.
